This collection explores the intriguing and powerful field of black and white photography. Black and white photography allows one to look at the world from a different perspective. By removing color, you focus on textures, shapes, and deep contrasts. Architectural photography lends itself well in black and white. Finally, when looks at a black and white photograph, there is a sense of timelessness to it. The image could be from the past or future.
This is a small and deliberate collection. Without colour, a photograph has to work on shape, contrast and light alone, which suits some subjects far better than others. The pieces here are mostly structural: the Williams Tower in Houston, City Hall and the CN Tower in Toronto, and the Gateway Arch in St Louis.
The exception is the wreck at Solheimasandur in Iceland, which has been sitting on the black sand since 1973 and photographs better without colour than with it. If architecture is what draws you, there is more of it in the Cities and Architecture gallery.

We currently offer two limited edition print options at Brent Goldman Photography to display the artwork in a modern, striking manner: FujiFlex Crystal Archival paper and Gallery Acrylic. The main difference between the two is that the Gallery Acrylic option is frameless and ready-to-hang, while the FujiFlex paper will require matting and framing. Both options will be signed and numbered with the edition and will ship for free in the US.
The photograph is first printed on brilliant FujiFlex Crystal archival paper, then face mounted to 1/4-inch acrylic glass, and finally encapsulated by a 1/8-inch durable backing to provide stability. A rear floating frame is included so the print will be ready-to-hang upon arrival.
FujiFlex prints surpass other printing paper bringing unbelievable resolution, clarity, and vibrancy. Acrylic glass allows the light to bounce through the surface which provides an amazing near 3-D glowing effect, making the image come alive. Combined, you have the ultimate viewing experience.

FujiFlex paper is the perfect companion for landscape photography. The paper features polyester-based silver halide material to yield a high gloss print with rich tones, superb clarity, and deep contrast.
This print option will need to be matted and framed prior to being hung on the wall. Print sizes over 40-inches will be shipped in a tube.
A large-format fine art print reads differently than most wall decor. It anchors a room without competing with it, which is why collectors often reach for landscape photography in minimalist living rooms, home offices, and spaces built around natural materials and neutral tones.
Acrylic face-mounts suit brighter, more contemporary rooms where the glass-like finish can catch the light; FujiFlex paper in a simple frame sits more quietly in a study or a hallway.
